I love dressing myself in locally-made clothing for many reasons, but two of the biggest ones are that I love supporting other small businesses (and the local economy in general), and I can’t resist the fabulous feeling of wearing something out of the ordinary and made with love. Plus, there’s nothing like being able to put a face to the label on the back of your dress!
This weekend in Vancouver, fans of local fashion have a terrific opportunity to score some great deals on locally-produced clothing, accessories, and leather goods, at the Nifty for Fifty sale. Everything is priced to go — $50 or less — and two of our favourite local designers, Allison Wonderland and Erin Templeton, among others, will be selling their wares.
The sale runs Saturday, April 18 & Sunday, April 19, from noon to 7pm, at the Art & Soul Gallery, 1277 Robson St. (at Jervis), in the Pacific Palisades Hotel.
