Ever have one of those moments when you come across something incredibly cool, and your initial reaction — delight — is followed swiftly by self-recrimination of the “Damn! I wish I’d made that” variety? That’s how I felt when I found FreelanceSwitch’s Guide to Making Passive Income. It’s a smart, pithy guidebook, available online in four parts (Selling Stock, Making Products, Selling Subscription Services, and Building a Web Business), or as a downloadable PDF e-book, that covers the basics of getting beyond hourly-rate, fee-for-service work to help you increase your income without increasing your workload.
I think it’s awesome, and recommend it highly for those of you in the service industry. And don’t be fooled by the “freelancer” language — those of you running small creative studios will find lots to benefit your bottom line.

Have you ever read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki? He and his wife are entrepreneurs who are big proponents of “passive income”. I love the topic, thanks for sharing.

Hi Kerry Anne — I haven’t read it, but have heard good things. This is definitely a topic that’s on my mind of late, too.
