Qualities of a Leader

March 24th, 2010 by Lauren · 1 Comment

This may be the best definition of great leadership I’ve seen.

(I strive to embody all of these characteristics, but I know I’ve got a ways to go with several.)

If you’reĀ  a creative services firm, and you haven’t discovered Recourses yet, hie thee to their website and you’ll discover a treasure trove of whip-smart thinking.

    Being cool helps.
My wife recently attended a meeting setting out a major joint venture agreement between two fortune 500 companys. On entering the room a senior exec from the other company asked her to arrange for some fresh coffee. She told the man that she would be as quick as possible and asked if he would like her to bring some biscuits as well, thank you he replied. She then left the room to obtain the required supplies. As the room settled down, the Coffee man stood up and asked when the meeting was going to start. The reply caused some amusement . When the coffee lady gets back, she is chairing the meeting.

My wife’s job title is Chief Council Global Law Europe and of course Coffee Lady to men in grey suits.
